Braids for Birthday Parties and Beyond

Last weekend saw a couple of the talented team from Fresh Hair & Body use their skills for Pearl’s unicorn themed fifth birthday party, adorning the girls with glitter and pink hair colouring, followed by braiding styles of their choice.

To all the mums out there who want to expand their braiding skills at home, we have some handy tips on how to impress your little one(s) with these hair-braiding techniques.   




1. French Braid and Reverse French Braid




The classic French braid is probably the easiest braid to learn if you are starting to practice hair braiding. For an easy step-by-step tutorial, you can check out the following video:




For the reverse French braid, the technique is very similar but ends with a different result as shown in the picture above. The difficulty level isn’t as hard as it seems, and this next video will show you the best way to go about it:



2. Fishtail braid



This braid is slightly trickier than a French braid but the finished product is beyond stunning! With a bit of practice, the concept of the fishtail braid gets easier as you go along. This video will show you the easiest way to perfect that fishtail:


3. Headband braid




The perfect braid for upcoming school photos, the headband braid will make your little one feel like a princess with their very own hair styled as a braided headband. The following tutorial will give you full confidence in achieving the best result:


4. Waterfall braid
